Fruity moments seen on the catwalk last yearhave inspired the latest looks in store
When designer Miuccia Prada sent out dresses, skirts and shirts covered in a delightful banana print, and Stella McCartney designed a print featuring oranges and lemons for Spring 2011.fashion decided it was having a truly fruity moment. The influence of those two collections has finally made it's way to stores here, with lemon and orange printed dressesat Farmers and pineapple and banana print sleepwear at Peter Alexander. And where prints are more literal (and humorous) take on the fruity trend, vibrant citrus colours-yellow,red,lime,orange-prove just as effective for summer. As for whats next? Think of your other food groups-like vegetables. Much like tomatoe, eggplant, zucchini and pepper prints that featured at Dolce and Gabbanna for Fall 2012.
